Have you ever noticed how many times your toddlers asks for something even though you have said no? It’s like they don’t even hear you or don’t understand what language you are speaking. Oh and then if they do acknowledge the “no”, its then followed with a “but why”! Ughhhh! Charli is a master at this. Because she knows that if I am working and she asks enough times that I will cave and give her what ever she is asking for because I can’t concentrate and just want her to stop asking! She has completely figured out the game of getting what she wants.
When I thought about this, I realized that we adults give up easily on what we want. We quit when the going gets tuff or we hit the slightest road block or hear just one “no”. Even though the incessant asking is annoying, maybe we need to learn from or toddlers and not give up so easily on what we want in life! Have you ever thought about this?

This is a hot debate.
Where as corporal punishment used to even be in our schools, more and more parents these days are opting out of spanking in fear that is promotes violence. But is it really so bad? Lets just be clear first about one thing, we are talking about a spanking, not taking advantage and beating your child.
I do believe in spanking in a controlled manner. It is crucial that you do not let your emotions get the best of you and that you spank out of discipline not anger. And you should not over-spank which I guess you could say “spank sparingly”.
In an out of control society with lack of manners and violence in the school system, maybe spanking should be put back in school. Every one thought that spanking encouraged violence but since its been used less and less and has been taken out of schools, violence has increased! How can this be? The rationalizing with your kids and telling them no no must really be working.
As a person with two sisters who are teachers, I can tell you there is a real lack of discipline in schools and not by the teachers fault. They have no backing to enforce discipline which allows kids to be out of control

Did you hear the new guidelines for car seats? Rear-facing until 2 now and a booster to the age of 12. I am soo annoyed. Although I completely understand and accept the purpose of car seats, they are the biggest pain!
I just flipped my 1 year old around to forward facing. The girl is 25 pounds and already wearing 18month to 2T clothing! I am sure she would be so thrilled with her knees in her big belly if I flipped her seat back to rear facing. Did they not think about the legs? Both my girls have long legs and had no leg room around 10 months of age when they were rear facing. And then the booster thing! I can’t picture my nephew who is 12 and in junior high still riding in a booster. And he is kinda short which most boys are at that age. That’s just the thing to help boys with the coolness factor rolling up to school and hopping out of their booster seat as Mom yells have a good day sweetie…..

Charli is very into noticing peoples different sizes compared to her. For instance, she notices that Mom has big boobies and she doesn’t. She noticed the Disney movie characters had boobies like Mom. She says that I have a big butt and she has a little butt and so on. She is very observant. And I thought it has been cute and funny up until yesterday with my first mortified “I can’t believe my child just said that” moment! …

I had the best weekend that I have had in a while. It was very over due. My husband and I just spent time together and it was awesome. We spent the weekend shopping, with friends and family, and most importantly just being with eachother without the usual distractions of work or the phone. It reminded me of when it was just us, before kids and before hectic life.
He was just so sweat and did a bunch of little stuff for me that maybe I have ignored or not noticed lately that just made me feel special again. Little stuff like he took the girls to the play area at the mall so I could do some shopping! I think the demands of life and small children make you absent minded of how you treat or pay attention to your spouse and it is so crucial to your relationship to combat this. We even built a book shelf and pantry with not one single argument this weekend!
Noticing those little things made me realize how much I miss him and how sometimes I even push him to the side because of the kids being so demanding and

All for under $20!
As Moms we always treat ourselves last. If you are like me, you are always the last to get ready to go somewhere. You end up putting more thought or time into how your kids look or are put together, and your kids take up most if not all of your fashion budget! (Especially if you have girls because they are so easy to buy for!) Well, you don’t have to sacrifice your Makeup budget!
If your mascara is a year old and you can’t even remembr how old your eye shadow is, throw it away! Clean out the old and stock up with the new! I love E.L.F. Cosmetics. I am like a kid in a candy store when I shop their site. And the great thing is you can get sooo much without breaking the bank.

It’s so funny how life changes when you have kids. Before kids, I never liked shopping by myself. It was boring. And I never went grocery shopping with out my husband. Now that the kids are here, I desperately plan my escape! I will even sacrifice sleep just to go grocery shopping without the kids or husband! There is that need for just a moment of solitude by yourself, even if it is in a store full of crazy people like Wal-Mart early in the morning or the middle of the night!

Do you ever just have one of those mornings where everything is going wrong? Yeah, me too. This morning. Well it started last night with lots of sleep interruptions and continued into the morning. Charli was needy and cranky and asked for what seemed like 100 things while I was trying to drink my cup of coffee not to mention she had to go to the bathroom 3 times in 15 minutes. And just when I was about to sit back down, Claire is awake and yelling. ( I really think it is impossible for a Mom to drink a hot cup of coffee! It really is a phenomenon because anytime I brew a cup, all heck breaks loose in the house!)
So I get Claire up and she is soaked from head to toe with pee and as I am pulling her pajamas off…..her diaper completely disintegrated! I had ran out of diapers last night and just put a Huggies diaper on her and forgot to switch to a pampers before I put her to bed. DO NOT BUY Huggies! It was disgusting. The insides of the diaper was all over my carpet just adding to my frustrations of the morning. I’ve never had that problem with Pampers
! Ever. Claire may be wet when she wakes up in the morning, but at least Pampers doesn’t dissolve on me spilling all on to my carpet.

Crumbs crumbs every where! I hate the feeling of stepping on crunched goldfish and cheerio landmines. They stick to your socks! But Charli often wants a snack during her movie time and now so does Claire.
Can you guess what happens? The bowl gets dumped every time and cheerios and gold fish get scattered all over the place! I think Claire does it on purpose so she can have a quick bite while roaming the house. She is like a squirrel scavaging for nuts! So I decided to try those spill proof snack cups. They work pretty good. I must say the Munchkin Snack Catchers
have minimized my mess greatly and also are great in the car and help keep the car seats cleaner-ish. The snack cups are a worthy buy. Unless you have a kid like my nephew who pulled the lid off in 30 seconds and dumped it out! Must be a boy thing. But the snack cups work great with my girls. Neither of them have pulled the lid off and they like caring them around.
